Hi Weavers!
November is my busiest month of the year, and this week was no exception. Phew! I think I've earned myself some loom time at this point and it just happens to be a cold, wet day today - perfect for cosying up in the studio with a loom or two!
During the week I released Episode 8 for the Kindred Weavers members group where I shared my plan to get on top of the overwhelm I've been feeling for some time.
Firstly, I cleaned and reorganised my studio, which had become cluttered and disorderly. What a difference that has made, I now look forward to walking into my studio each day! Just moving equipment around and utilising my storage space correctly has really opened up the space and made it feel clean and inviting.
Secondly, I chose 2 projects to work at in order to clear the deck a little. I have so many projects on the go and was feeling like it was too much. Usually, I thrive on having multiple projects on the go, but I guess I have my limitations! So, diligent project elimination has become a priority!
And thirdly, I've started planning my first project for my new 16 Shaft Jane Table loom. This gives me something to look forward to now that my Jane is fully assembled and has it's own space in the studio.

SOME INSPIRING NOSTALGIA
Jean sent me a link for a video that was made by her friend's father in 1950. It's a lovely video about a Swedish immigrant family in Minnesota.
It's a very inspiring and quaint video that includes goat shearing (so skilfully, by hand!), spinning, dyeing and weaving.
It reminded me of the lovely PBS Folkway series hosted by David Holt. They don't make television like that anymore, sadly.
