Hi Weavers!
When I first fulfilled my dream of purchasing a rigid heddle loom, my only real goal was to "weave cloth".
I guess by "cloth" I meant plain weave. Because back when I started rigid heddle weaving, that's what most weavers seem to be using a RH loom for.
But then I bought Jane Patrick's Weaver's Idea Book and it ignited something in my mind. I realised that my loom could do plain weave but so, so much more!
So I began to explore. I put on a sampler warp and went through the pick up section of the book. I wove a sampler using all different patterns and yarns. And I was hooked!
From there I picked up (pun intended π€) krokbragd, and then colour and weave, and then finger controlled techniques and then double width weaving.β
And after quite some time (I'm a slow learner!) I realised that all those 3 and 4 shaft weaving drafts I loved to pore over could also be woven on my rigid heddle loom, if I could find ways to set the loom up to achieve more than the standard 2 shafts.
These days, one of my favourite ways to weave with my RH loom is with 3 heddles π
