The Weekend Edition - The Art of Mending

Hi Weavers!

Fast fashion, how it makes me shudder and yet I fully recognise that I too am a part of it.

I like my "bargain" clothing and I don't always do well with repurposing when I have the opportunity to.

In weaving, I recognise that I waste more yarn these days than I used to. Or, at least, I'm not as careful.

My recent article on Substack is a discussion on the art of mending, prompted by a deeper look into my own less than desirable habits.

I even recently discovered a new way to use thrums (loom waste) that I'm really excited to try!

You can read all about it here:

Making the Most of What We Have...

Thank you to all of you who entered to win one of 5 of the free month I had to give away to my Little Threads of Grace newsletter. These were all gone within about a minute of the email going out!

Sorry to those who missed out, but I was able to offer a further 5 gifts, so 10 of you received the free month πŸ’•

My 16 year old daughter is creating beautiful infinity scarves on my vintage knitting machine.

She uses soft and squishy Australian merino grown and processed right here in Victoria. You can see her wearing one of her scarves in the photo of her at the machine.

This blue and burgundy infinity scarf is available for sale!

Carefully hand stitched off the machine for an invisible seam.

$50AUD, free post within Australia.
