NEW ON KINDRED WEAVERS THIS WEEK ⤵
This week I'm chatting to Youtube members while I spin some gorgeous local Polwarth fleece.
In this video I talk about spinning but also discuss the importance of gifting yourself the time to do things that fill your cup:

THE FINISHING PILE
Most of us creative folk have a secret (or not so secret, depending on the size!) pile of wovens waiting to be finished.
Maybe they need fringes twisted or even just some tails snipped off, but most commonly they are waiting to be hemmed.
Whether you are hemming by hand or by sewing machine, there is something that makes so many of procrastinate when it comes to this step. I haven't quite figured out why yet 🤔
Anyway, I had a couple of towels that I wove on my Flex Rigid Heddle sitting and waiting to be hemmed.
I finally got to it, it didn't take very long, and as usual I wondered what on earth my problem with finishing is - it really didn't take very long and the towels are now adorning my kitchen.
I already shared these on social media and was asked by a great many people whether I have a pattern for the towels. This was a personal project so no, I don't have a pattern, but they are fairly similar to the Log Cabin Table Runner project, which could easily be adapted to make towels.
