Hi Weavers!
Some of you may remember my Tomy Hobby Girl Weaving Loom that a friend very kindly sent to me in pristine condition. She had kept it since her childhood!
It's almost a year since I uploaded a tutorial and shared my excitement at being in possession of a vintage toy loom.
That video really started something. People have reached out to me from all over the world trying to get their hands on one of these little looms!
Although they are hard to come by, a Canadian follower managed to find one in Queensland, I purchased it on her behalf and now she has one too!
I've had many requests for more information and general questions about the Hobby Girl Loom, so I've collated what I know into a free article:

I also made some time this week to try out some new boat shuttles and film this to share with all of you.
These are the smallest boat shuttles I've ever used and although I didn't really think they would suit me, I absolutely love weaving with them!
You can find the shuttles available for sale here (great news - US shipping has re-opened!) and check out the video right here β¬οΈ

DOING HARD THINGS
I have been trying to challenge myself to do things that I find uncomfortable. Although it's much easier for me to avoid things that don't come naturally to me, I know that it's an important aspect of growth.
This week I felt inspired to do something I've not done very much because I find it difficult - live streaming!
My fears around live streaming can be outlined as:
- Fear of the unknown/uncomfortable
- Fear of something going wrong
- Fear of not having enough technical knowledge
- Fear of not knowing what to say or saying the wrong thing
- Fear of no one watching, causing me to feel embarassed
- Fear of my own negative talk ("you are so dull - who would want to listen to your live stream?" "Why would you even bother to do this?")
Anyway, I managed to put these fears aside and just do it. No, it wasn't perfect, yes I made some technical errors resulting in zero audience, but I did it.
The live stream is recorded here if you're interested to watch:
